ROCC Collection: The Olfactory Essence of MatterUpdated 2 months ago

The Sensory Paradox of the Scent of Stone

The ROCC collection is born from an extraordinary idea: giving an olfactory form to what is, by its nature, odourless. Developed from the vision of internationally renowned designer Michael Anastassiades, a passionate rock collector, and crafted in collaboration with the prestigious French perfume house Robertet from Grasse, ROCC is a fascinating sensory paradox. It is not a simple imitation of matter, but an olfactory landscape that holds memories, emotions, and the cultural context of origin of the six chosen minerals.

Design, Sustainability, and Made in Italy

The collection consists of elegant scented candles and diffusers housed in refillable 18/10 stainless steel containers. The minimalist design, evoking proto-industrial production, is completed by a protective lid that adds a touch of elegance.

An intrinsically sustainable project: why choose ROCC

Reusability: The steel containers are designed for a second life. Once the wax or solution is exhausted, they can be repurposed as decorative objects, catch-alls, jewellery boxes, or candle holders, aligning with an idea of durable and responsible design.

Refillability: The container and the refill (wax or scented solution) are sold separately, inviting you to compose your own custom olfactory universe and reduce environmental impact.

Italian Craftsmanship: All elements are produced in Italy, a 100% Made in Italy product that guarantees high quality and attention to detail.

Choosing Your ROCC Fragrance Online: Your Guided Olfactory Journey

Buying a home fragrance online is a decision that requires imagination. To help you, we invite you to close your eyes and let yourself be guided by the emotions and landscapes that each fragrance evokes:

MARBLE: Purity and Contemplation.

  • Inspiration: The serenity, stability, and dazzling light of the white Carrara marble quarries.
  • Key Notes: Wood, Leather, and Styrax Resin. It combines the fresh opening of Pine with a heart of Tobacco and Balsam Fir, resting on a noble base of Suede and Cedarwood.
  • Character: Noble, powdery, enveloping, and quiet, conveying a sensation of stability and purity.

BASALT: Volcanic Strength and Mystery.

  • Inspiration: The vibrant intensity and mystery of a volcanic landscape, amidst smoke and shadow.
  • Key Notes: Nepal Pepper, Cade Essential Oil, and Lemon Zest. A citrus and "electric" start (Lemon Zest, Timur Pepper) gives way to a Cypress heart, anchored to a smoky and woody base of Cade Essential Oil.
  • Character: Dark, smoky, and intensely mysterious, for those seeking a fragrance that expresses elemental strength.

AMBER: Warmth and Regeneration.

  • Inspiration: The invigorating sweetness and intimacy of ancient resins, trapped and transformed into amber.
  • Key Notes: Honey, Tonka Bean, and Spices. Orange Essential Oil in the head introduces a warm heart of Cinnamon and Nutmeg, then blending with Tonka Bean (vanilla and spicy) in the base.
  • Character: Warm, rich, and comforting, like a soft, resinous embrace, ideal for creating a cozy atmosphere.

AMETHYST: Enigmatic Depth.

  • Inspiration: The calm intensity and spiritual transparency of this stone.
  • Key Notes: Violet, Myrrh, and Lavender. The floral note of Violet joins Lavender and Wine Sediments, concluding with a warm, spiritual base of Myrrh.
  • Character: Unique, floral-spiritual, diffusing a deep calm and a meditative, mysterious, and enveloping sensation.

CLAY: Earth and Vitality.

  • Inspiration: Damp earth after rain, the smell of Petrichor, evoking an authentic and lively landscape.
  • Key Notes: Red Juniper, Black Pepper, and Petrichor. Citrus (Elemodor) and spicy (Black Pepper) notes introduce the rare Petrichor accord and Fresh Grass, fixed by a warm and musky base of Ambroxan and Cedarwood.
  • Character: Earthy, fresh, and vibrant. A fragrance that faithfully recreates the smell of nature after a storm, instilling vitality.

FLINT: Magnetic Essentiality.

  • Inspiration: Raw stone, elemental force, pure oxygen, and "wet metal."
  • Key Notes: Flint Fragments, Wild Fern, and Oakmoss. The opening is mineral and green (Flint, Fern), warming in the heart with Ambroxan, to finish in a base of Amber Dust and Oakmoss.
  • Character: Raw, mineral, and magnetic, a scent that captures the open air and the essentiality of the rock, with a green-woodland touch.

Tips for Online PurchaseTo make the right choice, consider the atmosphere you wish to create:

  • For a warm and relaxing atmosphere: Choose Amber or Marble.
  • To recharge energy and feel nature: Choose Clay or Flint.
  • For a touch of mystery and intensity: Choose Basalt or Amethyst.

Maintenance: How to Clean and Reuse the Steel Container

The ROCC collection is designed for longevity. Once the candle is used up, the 18/10 stainless steel container can be easily cleaned for reuse as a decorative object or to accommodate a new refill.

To remove wax residue, you can choose between two effective methods:

  • Freezer Method: Place the container in the freezer for a few minutes. Once hardened, the wax will easily detach in a single piece.
  • Boiling Water Method: Pour boiling water into the container and allow it to cool. The wax will melt, rise to the surface, and solidify into a disk, which you can easily remove.

Tips: After removing the residue, the stainless steel container can be washed by hand with soap and water, or conveniently in the dishwasher.

Average Duration of Candles and Diffusers

The duration of fragrance diffusion can vary based on ambient temperature and the presence of drafts. For optimal and regular combustion, it is advisable to keep the candles away from drafts.

Here are the indicative durations under optimal conditions:

  • Small Candle: approximately 25 hours
  • Medium Candle: approximately 35 hours
  • Large Candle: approximately 50 hours
  • Diffuser (200 ml): approximately 30 days

Components, Wax Composition, and Allergens

ROCC fragrances skillfully combine natural and synthetic raw materials, selected by Robertet. This balanced choice allows for expanding the olfactory palette (for example, reproducing iconic notes like musk without any impact on animals) and offering fragrances that are more stable, long-lasting, and in some cases less allergenic, compared to using exclusively natural ingredients. The wax is composed of 70% paraffin and 30% natural wax. This ratio guarantees the proper combustion of the wick, which is crucial for intense fragrance diffusion, which would be compromised with the exclusive use of 100% natural wax. The alcohol in the diffusers, meanwhile, promotes correct evaporation and diffusion of the fragrance. The complete list of allergens is available on the folding label inside the packaging and on the product itself. Allergens present are: Octahydro tetramethyl acetonaphtone, piperonal, ethyllinalool, (-)-ß-pinene, 2-isopropoxyethyl salicylate.

Tips for Candle Use and Refilling

To ensure an optimal experience from the very first lighting, keep two simple tips in mind for refilling and use:

It is possible that small fragments of wax detach or the edges appear chipped when transferring the refill into the metal container. Simply place these fragments near one of the wicks during the first lighting: they will be completely consumed and contribute to maximising the fragrance intensity.

Regarding wax extraction: The colder the wax is, the easier it will be to extract the refill from its plastic casing.

The candle should never be lit inside the plastic capsule.
